Video card (w/dual DVI) max resolution question...

Generally speaking should both DVI's on a dual-DVI out video card be able to output the max resolution?

e.g. A card has max resolution of 2048 x 1536, and I want to run basic 2D on two (2) DVI-connected monitors which are 1920 x 1200, will there be a problem?

Video card supports:
2048 x 1536 = 3.15 million pixels max

However (2) 1920 x 1200 monitors use:
3840 x 1200 = 4.61 million pixels total

The purpose of this question is for future-proofing my next video card since I use two monitors now and may go larger later on.

Technically, the only thing limiting total output bandwidth below the sum of individual output bandwidth is the graphics card's local RAM. On a discrete graphics chip made in this millenium, you'll never find that happen.

It depends upon the bandwidth of each output. There are cards which are only capable of the maximum resolution from the primary. However, 1920x1080 @ 60Hz is within the basic spec so will not be a problem from any output. Current model cards are generally capable of higher resolutions from both ("Dual-Link" should be specified for both).
