Hey everyone, I just want some opinions about getting a new video card. What you guys like. What has the best performance with the best price? PCI-Express only. Thanks

no budget

well, the topic is general hardware, and a video card is hardware, and there are more people in general hardware (faster reply) so I just figured I'd post here.

With that logic we'd have everything in here... or even everything clumped into Off Topic :(

As far back as I have been paying close attention to video card pricing, the Medium Quality cards have tended to offer the greatest bang for a buck, with the Geforce 7600 GT, at around $160 being on top of that heap in the middle of Medium. There is also the Radeon X1650 XT to consider, but it's not as widely available, being a really late to market response to the Geforce card.

Yeah But I don't like mainstream to use. They're not worth as the money we buy them but with low money, Radeon X1650 is very good.

I don't like to puff up my own threads but I had a thread running for a few days in the video forum called something like 8800 vs x1950xtx but yesterday somewhat unrelated to the thread title I put in a long post that might be of interest to you at the mid range level.

Ok, you have no budget, so does that mean you're willing to spend $xxx? If you're willing to spend anything, don't look at mid-range/bang-for-the-buck cards.

If you really didn't you wouldn't be asking...

You will get much better recommendations if you provide:

1) rough budget estimate (don't worry, we'll blow it anyway)
2) intended use
3) CPU/RAM/motherboard (or planned purchases)

the answer you will get is only as good as the info you provide.
