Video Card To Buy

Im helping someone build a computer system. I need to choose a video card for pci-e. I was looking at the non GT 6600 and it looks very appealing. It sales for around 125 shipped. However, the X700 that was tested was really good too. But i cant find any thing except a Pro and its around 170 shipped. Thats a little too much.
The person wont be playing games, maybe on occasions. Games will be like Doom 3 and such. Most of it will be for dvd, avi, video play back and just regular surfing the net. I just want them to have the capibilites to play games if they decide to and not waste 90 bucks on a 6200 pci turbo cache then decide a 6600 was a better choice.
anyone has any suggestions?? im really trying to stay under 100 dollars but if its really worth it like the 6600, ill considered. any agp suggestions are also welcomed.

I think the vanilla 6600 is a good choice. Its not the fastest, most powerful, but it will get the job done. This is especially evident for the fact that the guy won't be a serious gamer. It WILL do what you want it do do, just don't expect anything spectacular.

im in US, so US dollars. The 9600PRo was a good suggestion, but its AGP and tested to be lowered than the regular 6600.
Yeah i dont think hes looking for 6800 level performance. Something that will play NFUS 2 and Doom 3 at a good level.
What about dvd play back quality?? personally i have a mx400, ancient i know, and dvd play back is terrible. the pictures are sort of pixeled and the subtitles are worst. this wont be a problem with the 6600 is it?

oh yeah and what about brand type? i know not all gpus perform the same, even with the same chipset. the one im looking at is the MSI 128bit one. Very cheap at 113.
