I read the whole thing (90+ pages!), it was one of the best compairisons I have seen in a while due to the fact that it includes all Nvidia and ATI dx9 cards along with a few dx8 cards from both compaines. Great read.

Boy, THG is a master of getting the most ad-views for the least amount of content. There's nothing super about the benchmarks they ran--only three, and the three most nV-biased ones around (see how a 5600 fares against a 9600P at TR and HW.fr). 90 pages is just ridiculous (two per card, even--good grief!). The MSI is certainly chock full of features, though, so if you value extras more than plain speed and IQ, I suppose it's a good choice.

I prefer Digit-Life's 3Digest for more and better benchmarks and IQ screenshots and info, not to mention some nifty price/performance graphs, but I'm surprised to see the 5600 competitive with a 9600P in their benches, too. Pity I don't have the two cards to compare myself, but I trust TR and HW.fr over THG and DL, so I value the formers' numbers more (not to mention they use more than just the most common FPSes to bench with).

Shhhhhhh!!!! You've stumbled upon nVidia's secret to profitability! The generations that end in "0" are slower (nV30) than the prior ending in "5". (nV25)
That forces users to buy the next that ends in "5" (nV35) to finally get a card that's faster than the prior "5" card!

Hmm, 5900 (non-ultra) seems to marginally beat the 9800pro 128mb in every test there, often comprahensively. I was under the impression 9800pro beat the 5900non-ultra? iirc digit-life were much, much closer, especially Q3 and Code Creatures, with the 9800pro winning every other bench...

I'm deciding between these two cards right now, quite fussy because theyre both overly expensive for me (circa £275 in UK :/). All i really care about though is future games like D3 and HL2, either of course should handle my current use just fine.

ps. WTF is the point in a 90 page benchmark that only actually used THREE games??? 87 pages of marketing copypaste?
