Video Card Suggestions

I'm considering upgrading my vid card. I currently have a Radeon LE. I play some games, presently playing Deus EX. My wife does alot of word processing and internet surfing. I'm considering either the Kyro II, Radeon VIVO 64mb or the Geforce Pro 64mb. Any suggestions or comments from u guys?🙂

What type of rig do you have? Processor and speed, windows version, etc. Is 2D imporant to you? What games do you like to play? Do you want video in/ video out? Etc, etc, etc. All of these will play a factor in what card is best for you.

If those were my choices I would probably go with Geforce Pro.

I want to use win2k exclusively but I still don't because of my radeon. 🙁

Well for Deus Ex I would either go with the PRO or the Kyro. The PRO is probably a bit faster in 16 bit but the Kyro will have faster FSAA as long as you have a good processor.

I have a Tbird 850 CPU, MSI k7T pro2a mobo, WIN 98, 384 mb ram. 2d would be important to my wife. the games i'm currently playing are Half-Life, Quake II, Deus EX and Links 2001. I really like games like Deus EX and would like to find more games like that in the future. I thought i might like TV-out for watching DVD's on TV. Would probably like to try video capture soon.

The games you mentioned are optimized for the 3dfx Voodoo line of cards. I have a Voodoo5-5500 AGP and those particular games run beautifully on my Voodoo5-5500 AGP. You could get one for cheap and then upgrade to a GeForce3 or 4 in the future when the Voodoo5 is no longer able to perform.
