Video Card recommendations

I'm building the following system:

Intel D875 PBZ mobo
Corsair 1GB PC3200 DDR DIMM Memory
P4 2.6 GHz

What do you guys recommend for a video card? I'll be using it primarily for gaming. I'm considering the Radeon 9800 Pro 128 (MB). I know I need the Direct X 9.0, but should I buy the top of the line?

Thanks

both ati and nvidia having next gen cards right around the corner (and hints that these new cards are increadibly faster then current stuff)... so personally i would either wait, or buy something mid-end like a 9600 pro

Cut him a break Mike, he's new. pmcint01 my first question is, how much do you have to spend on a video card? If you have LOOOOOOOOTS of money (these new cards will probably be around $399-$499 and up, just warning you) wait for the new video cards, but if you only have like $200-$250 to spend, then yes, get the 9800 Pro. OH, and the new cards will probably have better DX9 capabilities than the current cards, so if you really want SWEET DX9 capabilities, you will again be better off waiting.

Ehh...he may be new here but is this the first time he's turned on a computer looking for information? A 2 second search will turn up a ton of topics with more information than will ever be posted in this topic alone.
