I have a Compaq 1750NX. I am still using the onboard video card now. just bough a new online game, it running very very slow. I am planning to upgrade my memory from 1 GB to 2 GB. one of my friend told me that the video card may also need to be upgraded. I only play online games, what video should I buy? I only need a video card which is good enough for most online game, no need for a super fast one.

BTW, and good deal on PC3200 memory and video card this sunday?

It really depends on what online game. I'd just say get a 7600GTS, its only around $100 after rebate. Not too shabby. Unless you have AGP...

He has PCI-E on a socket 939 board. I second your recommendation on the card. And I would add that the OP should try NewEgg or ZipZoomFly for good deals.

7600GT is considerably faster.

7600GTS

7600GT

Newegg doesn't show the 7600GT's speeds so I would assume it would be the same speed as the 7600GT CO, since they both have the same heatsink (although that doesn't really mean anything). But the funny thing is that the boards look different. Some capacitors are in different places when comparing both cards.

I just check my machine spec. I only have a 300W power supply. seem I can only use 7600 GS not GT without changing the power supply. am I correct?
