Well the 6800Xtreme has DDR3, while the higher clocked(core) 7600GS has DDR2. The 68's memory is also clocked at 1000, whereas the 7600GS is at 900. Interestingly also the 6800 has 256bit memory and 7600 has 128bit. So there are many different factors to consider.

Do yourself a favor, and don't mess with those two cards. This card will crap all over both of them for not much more cash.

I recommend this X1800GTO instead of the 7600GT. It beats the 7600GT in most games, just so the games aren't OpenGL or a Flight Simulator, of course, it still does quite well there, as well, and you could just turn the Flight Simulators to DirectX mode to make them run smoother.:)

This X850XT would also be a good choice if Shader Model 3 doesn't matter.
