Was thinking about this lil beast.
My only question,
is there anything else out there thats more bang for the buck?
aslo, i was playing oblivion, and the HDR for my current card is only capable of Bloom instead of HDR.
would anyone know if this card is capable of it?if not,
are there any that will be?
Im mostly an ATI guy, but if someone shows me reason to change,
i may thing of the nVidians.
 
if that is your pricerange you can't really get any better for that. Go for it. The X1900 series handles HDR very well , and IIRC the X1800 does well too.

This card performs very, very close to a GeForce 7900GT, but is better in Oblivion if you are specifically concerned about that. The 7900GT may also overclock better (at least if you get nicer aftermarket cooling and voltmod it...).

IMO, this is the best deal currently out there at the ~$300 range. I actually just bought one of these. But I might have gotten a 7900GT if they were in stock at a competitive price (which, currently, they are not).
 
I'm wondering why the evga 7800GT went up over 60 bucks in the last couple of weeks. I paid 265 and now its 350 on newegg.
 
buy it fool!

if you want to spend a lil more.. those 7900gt's can be volt modded...and toss in an aftermarket cooling solution...you will get some seriously scary performance out of it.

but if you dont want to screw with all that... just get that card you wont be upset about either choice =P
