Video Card Problems

Video Card: ATI Radeon 9800 Pro

Well as the topic says i ahve problems with my video card. The problem is that it runs a lot slower than normal. When i run benchmark programs such as Aquamark i get much lower rating (around 24,000) than my friends with lower systems in both CPU and GPU power(they get over 30,000). I also run some of the default ATI tools benchmarking where i get a rating of (1,000) and the progrma itself says the my video card shoudl give somehting like 4,000. I am wondering why this is or if there is any way to fix it.

The system I have is well cooled with lots of fans (2 fans jsut for GPU), the only problem i foudn was that my power suppl y migh tbe a little bit low for all the fans (i currently have 1HD unplugged because i dont have enough power from power supply) but i don't think this would be such a big problem cause whne i unplug the fans i get the same benchmark results.

I have tried both Omeaga drivers, and the ATI normal drivers. SO i don't think the problem lies there.

Well i hope you can help and thanks for reading even if you can't.

If you have to unplug a hard drive because your power supply is weak, that very well could be the problem, fans are not that power hungry, so unplugging a few fans won't likely make a differance. Also double check to make sure the power connector for the video card is properly connected.

So, if you plug that drive in the machine won't work due to lack of power? That's ridiculous, try another PSU.
