I got a Radeon 9800 Pro Video Card just recently installed. Which work perfectly until the picture started tweaking out. Mostly lines all over the picture. It happens at other times but it will always happen if I start playing Doom 3 and with in 5 minutes of starting the picture will go all to hell.
 
I'm assuming you're not overclocked...

Have you tried running the comp with the case side panel removed? Perhaps the GPU is overheating. I suppose the problem could also lie with the monitor, but probably not since you said it works fine for awhile then messes up under heavy gaming.
