Video Card Problems

Can anyone tell me if there is a diagnostic tool to see if a card is failing? I'm having lock ups with my Radeon 9700 pro when playing games. Also, when I first turn on the PC, the Monitor has a hard time coming on. Not sure if it having a hard time to get a signal from the video card or not. Thanks all

You already posted this once in the video cards forum. Dont multi-post!

As for your question are you sure its the video card causing this. How do you know? What drivers are you running. What are you system specs.... especially PSU readings. Are you OCing.

We need more information to help with your problem.

You don't need any diagnostic tools. If your games are locking up, something is wrong.

Do you have good airflow going to the card? It could be overheating.

Also, can you list the rest of your specs?

Sorry for the Multi thread, I posted in hardware first then realised there was Video forum.

Here are my current specs,

All stick and no overclocking

Gigabte GA-8PE667 Ultra
P4 2.4B
Radeon 9700 pro
Samsung 512 cas2
Samsung 1614n 160 Gig HD
Santa Cruz sound card
Onboard Network
NEC DVD\RW
LanLi Case with antec 400w PS

I have several fans in the case and there is one on the video card. How can I get the PSU readings? I have tried multiple drivers for the video card with same results. Seems the newer drivers don't work as well as the older ones. Not sure exactly what version, but can post it later today
