video card problem?

im putting together a system and i bought a used video card, evga 6800 to be exact, and my mobo says agp 1.5v only. how do i figure out what my cards voltage is? i didnt get any manuals with it) im assuming it will work as all motherboards ive looked at say 1.5v only, but just want to make sure so i dont give myself a fireworks display or something.

thanks 🙂

i need to know the voltage of the evga 6800 before i get a board. im afraid of damaging the card/board somehow. does anyone know if a evga geforce 6800 (AGP) will go into an asus p4p800 board? im sure it will but i want to double check as im just about out of budget on the unit and i dont want to break something 🙁

PCIe won't work on that slot.

Both AGP 4x and 8x should work and as far as I know you don't need to do anything but plug it in, drivers etc. I don't think there is any voltage manipulation by you required.

Well, no duh, it's called AGP for a reason...

Anyway, the newer AGP 3.0 spec uses 0.8V, and it is backwards compatible with the older 1.5V spec, so most newer cards will run on both...
