Video Card Problem - please help

I'm trying to help out a friend with a computer problem, but I've never experienced it before. He says that once he plays a game for a few minutes the game freezes and unfreezes about every 10 seconds for a few seconds and it repeats this pattern over and over.

From what I know he bought a box Dell and has not changed anything inside other than adding more RAM. Does anyone know what this could be?
