Hi Guys.
I have had a few small problems with my new build.I'am thinking it might be my ''new'' video card.Sapphire Hybrid Radeon X800XL PCIE 512DDR3.After boot up when I move my mouse the display screen goes into just virtical colors. No more Windows just beautiful colors. All drivers are up to date.So I'am some what at a lose.I'am not sure if I have a bad card or not.A good friend told me to replace me cheap PS and get a good one.
I have checked''well I think'' everything and everything seems to be running like a champ. All temps and volts are good and I have done NO OCing. This is driving me crazy. If you could give a me a little idea on what might be wrong it would GREAT.Thanks again guys.:(

Have you got access to another PCI-E card to test? I would also blame the card but it could be other things.

No,I do not have another card on hand.I was thinking of just going ahead and changing out the PS.Maybe that will help.

Thanks for your help.

Well i would say they the chances that it is a PS problem or very low, considering it happens when you do a function involving just the video card (ie, mouse movement.) If it did this on boot up i might blame the PS, but in this case i dont think its the problem.

Ill have to agree that it does sound like a video card issue though, almost a driver issue, but you said there up to date. Maybe its just a faulty vid card (rendering is f'ed up.......onboard chips got damaged, etc)

Id try an RMA of the vid card, since its free, and its the only real way to test if its the vid card
(unless you have a friend with a PCI slot mobo, and can swap yours in his computer to test it)

...you bought a 512MB X800XL?! That thing is a POS that can easily get smoked by a $270 7800GT.

The power supply is pretty crappy, but I'm not sure if it's actually causing the problem here. In any case, you should get it replaced.

Thank you for all the info.I was hopping it was not the Video Card. But deep down I had a '' gut'' feeling that was the problem.Well, I guess ZZF or NEGG will get some $$$$$.

Thanks again guys for all your help.

Hi, The PSU would be the least likely culprit as long as everything else seems to be running. Jim

I had a pixelization problem with my rig big time...It is a common problem especially with eVGA 7800GT cards...and I've heard with other brands as well. I RMA'ed and haven't had a problem since.

Sucks since I had both a bad CPU, bad Motherboard, AND a bad videocard all in the same order from Newegg....was a huge mess for someone like myself that doesn't have access to friends with extra high end parts laying around. :-/
