Video Card Problem??? Building New System.

Helping a friend put together a new PC.

ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe
500W X-Connect
1GB PNY
Radeon X1900XT 512MB
320GB Seagate SATA-II

After everything is plugged in I went to boot it up for the first time (and everytime since then) and got one long and two short beeps. Looking up the codes on the net told me that's the BIOS video card error message. I have never set up an SLI board (with a crossfire compatible card, if that matters) but have tried the video card in both PCI-Express ports. I thought maybe there wasn't enough power so I swapped out the 1900 for my X800GT (the 1900 needs the 6-pin power and mine does not) and still got a error from both ports. This is really bothering me because I don't understand what I could be doing wrong. My next step is to try an old PCI vid card incase the BIOS/Mobo is just bad??? I dunno...anything would be helpful, thanks!

try removing everything but cpu, video and 1 stick of ram, removed all else (ide, sata cables). Try also clearing the cmos and see if that helps as well. if not try the pci video card and see.
