This is my second agp viddeo card I have killed in 2 different boards. I am trying to run my celeron 566 at 850. The first card was a cheap basic 8 meg agp 6326 sis chipset. The second one is a dianond stealth II g460. I had a cooling fan on the g460 but all of a sudden wouldnt boot. The agp slot still works I think. Ill ahve to buy another card. Using my old pci right now. Could I be killing the slot or am I just killing the cards. This board is a new gigabyte ga-6vxe7 while the other was an msi 6182. Any ideas would be appreciated.

You might want to check to make sure that you have the AGP running at 2/3 the FSB instead of one. Don't know much about your motherboard. Good Luck.

i) will the board boot with the cpu at default speed?
ii) did you reseat the card a few times?
iii) make sure the AGP ratio is set to 2/3 (as stated above)

You might want to clear the CMOS and try again. I don't think a high AGP clock would physically damage a part over a short period of time.

Or, you could try not overclocking :)

Could try not overclocking but that wouldnt be any fun. Have my pci video card in and it runs great. Guess Ill keep it this way. Thanks for helping a newbie out!!!
