I would like to know if it would be (easily) possible to disable a Matrox MGA-G200 AGP controller on my motherboard so that I can install a 3dfx Voodoo PCI video card. I assume that it would not be as simple as just inserting the PCI card and installing the drivers.

This is a Sony PCV314 Pentium II computer, with 4 PCI slots and the Matrox AGP controller built on the motherboard, I believe.

Thanks.

I checked that out first.

The bios does not seem to have any place to disable the AGP.

Good try. I thought that was a great answer, but it's not evident which is the device for the Matrox AGP controller. None of the device managers listed refer to Matrox nor do they mention AGP.

Thanks DarkMajiq. Ignore my last reply. The device is listed under Display Adapter. I should be all set.

Thanks a lot for your help.

If that doesn't work, there may be a jumper on the motherboard to do it.
