Video Card Help, Please.

I uninstalled my 4x Ti 4200 and then installed a newer 8x Ti 4200. now, after i installed the drivers, i can see part of the screen but another part is black and white bars going across. Did i do something wrong, or is the card defective? do i need to disable the 8x, b/c my mobo can only handle 4x. if so, how would i do that? THANK YOU

The 8x/4x mode would be in your BIOS, you would typically hit tab to access it...you think maybe its drivers? Maybe it's worth a try. Do these bars only come up in Windows?

yea, i get the xp is loading thing...everything looks fine so far...then windows loads, and i can see some of my orginal icons, but i cant hit the start bar or turn off the comp normally and there are these bars.

It sounds as if it is a driver problem then. Try uninstalling the ones you have now (in safe mode if necessary) and then get the 43.45's from nvidia.com.

While it's booting up, before the Windows XP loading screen comes up, hit F8 (I usually just sit there hitting it repeatedly just to make sure I don't miss it).

ER...wait...you have NT. I'm not sure abou NT, I would guess it's the same.
