video card heatsink design...

Why are video cards (at least in my mind) upside down. Some companies are making cool looking lighted fans, but they point down and you cant see them. Plus its pushing air down where air is normal brought in the pc (front). Its should point up to blow hot air out the back 2 fans or optional blow hole.

its is because of intel motherboard specifications. I hope that they change it on the BTX specifications

They are not upside down..... they are perfectly fine if you are using a desktop PC.

However the trend these days is for tower profile systems so it would seem that it is upside down. There are other logistical reasons. The area on the other side of the AGP card is occupied by the CPU and during the Slot1/A days it was quite possible that if a graphics card had been made mirrored that some components might have obstructed the chip/heatsink package. And that still might happen one day as things keep getting exotic.

As for BTX, what a joke.... after all this time they finally decide to implement the bleedin' obvious.... well done.
