video card fried?

hello everyone,

i booted up my pc the other day and was greeted with an ugly 640 x 480 resolution. once i logged in, i noticed that my video card was detected as an nvidia quadro4 780 XGL even though it's a geforce 4 ti4200. i even uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers as well as took the video card out and put it back in to no avail.

i decided to insert another video card (a geforce 2 MX400) and it was detected properly. so no matter what i do my geforce 4 is no longer detected properly. now it's detected as a pci video card🙁 i assume something is faulty on the video card to cause this issue.

well, at least i have an excuse to upgrade if it is bad.
