Video card for around 80-120$

My friend needs help finding a good video card to replace his old geforce 4. Im not sure which card will be his best bet to play games like half life 2 with good settings. So please give me some suggestion so I can help him out.

Used 9700pro perhaps, you might be able to find a 9600 new for that price, although the peformance probably won't be that much better.

If he's moving from a GF4 Ti then there isn't a real good upgrade option in that price range.

Your only real upgrade will be a 9700pro which can be had for around $140 (FS/T or eBay "Buy It Now")

Unless you get a 9600xt, dont get any 9600, because they are even slower than the older 9500pro they replaced. I would get an 9700pro, it's significantly faster than gf4 or any 9600 card.

The 9700Pro is easily 100+% faster.

Benches (the regular RADEON 9800 is almost exactly as fast as the 9700Pro, for comparison)
