Video Card for an AMD 64 3500?

Hello all,

I will be waiting for an nforce4 sli mobo before I order anything, but I was wondering about video card selections in the interim.

In my opinion the 6600GT is a fantastic bang for buck video card, but I am not certain how well it sits in a 3500 system. Ie. will this video card be the limiting factor (on average) in this box?

Likewise, if the 6800GT was selected, will the CPU now limit my performance?

Since I am going to be getting an SLI mobo, I want to be able to (hopfully without also replacing the cpu!) add another vid card down the track when required. Thus if the cpu is a limiting factor with the 6800GT, the 6600GT will most likely be the best option.

However, if the 3500 is more than strong enough to deal with 1 6800GT, then a second of these will still yield a big boost in 18 months time.

Any thoughts?

6600GT starts faltering at higher resolutions; stick with the 6800GT.

I didn't need a big incentive to spend more money, but I got one anyway! 6800gt all the way it seems, thanks guys.
