video card driver removal

Hello Group,
I should be getting my new GTX Radeon R9 280X tomorrow and my question is what video card driver program do you use to remove the old drivers ?

Also, what drivers should I use for Win 7 64-bit? the one on the AMD website?? I'm just trying to go through this as painless as possible and start gaming as soon as possible

You could start with 14.4 (top of page) the latest WHQL, or 14.7RC (bottom of page), the latest non WHQL release.

Use DDU Display Driver Uninstaller and follow the instructions.

DDU is great. Even boots into safe mode for you.

I had some trouble with the Raptr software that comes with the AMD driver. If games look like a slide show disable it or delete Raptr and see what happens.
I picked up a 280X last month myself, it puts out a lot of heat but I'm alright with that.

Also, usually I advise to get driverfusion from treexy, it seems to work well if you can dodge the free software.

Tutorial for proper driver installation.

1-Load windows with only your primary graphics card plugged in.
2-Disable any and ALL anti-virus/malware protection.
3-Download and Run the 14.4 (or latest) drivers from AMD.com
4-Choose to Uninstall/express the existing drivers, and AMD folder
5-Restart the computer.
6-Disable any and ALL anti-virus/malware protection.
7-Run the 14.4 drivers from AMD.com
8-Choose to Install/Express the drivers
9-Restart. Confirm settings are working in windows.
10-Shutdown and add 2nd/3rd cards for Xfire.
11-Respond to this ticket if you have any further questions
** If you have nvidia drivers on your computer, you might need to run the Uninstall feature of Nvidias driver as well.

Uninstall through Windows hasn't failed me in years. I think the days of needing driver sweeper programs is dead.

GTX eh? I didn't know Nvidia was making Radeon video cards now? Just kidding. I agree, use the uninstall option, should be OK.
