next would be to completely remove the drivers and reinstall them. Also make sure everything is plugged in correctly. Including monitor hookup.

did you try the card in a diffrent system?
also put the old card back in maybe and un-install it before you plug in the ti4600

Hello all,

I am the one that sold Triska this card. It was pulled the day I sold it and was working great. The most recent board was on a msi 6380 pro2u and before that it ran on a soyo dragon.

My specs were
475 pc power and cooling psu
1800+ amd cpu
xp pro for os
and using current drivers from MS update site.

This has me confused for it was in total working order and Triska didn't say anything that the package was messed up so I am confident that it came secure. We've been talking back and forth and both of us are stumped. He is a good person and I'd love to see him get this thing up and rocking so he can enjoy it so any help would be AWESOME!!!!!

I totaly agree on making sure it seats firmly for that ti4600, the visiontek is bigger then some of the other 4600's and can be hard to seat, though have to be carfull for the caps on the end of the board should be watched, heard horror stories of people knocking them off.

Only other thing to triska is if you have a buddy with another system and see if you can put that in his/her's to see if it works and if it does not then I need to square you away. I did some searches on the net and didn't find any issues with the card and board, people are running them so we know that part is good to go. It just has me stumped that when the system turns on nothing....did you try running your other card that you had before and see if that works? Also how big is the PSU you are using?

If I can think of anything else I'll post here and look for a pm from ya...and anyhelp from any of you would also be totally appreciated...

I want to get this up and going for Triska so he can enjoy it and not have any more headaches.... 🙁

Talk to ya later

Without doing any checking on the mobo, does it have onboard video? If so, check your mobo manual and see if there is a jumper or a dipswitch that needs to be changed to recognize the new video card. I know some boards are not auto-sensing and it may still be trying to use the onboard video. Good luck!

i have a 351watt psu
there is no onboard video
i tried putting it in
i dont get it...i felt the video card and it got really hot
the monitor light justs keeps flickering green and orange
...i dont know

Okay, 1 last suggestion, which could explain why you get a green light initially and then it goes to power save:

Have you checked the pins on the monitor cable? I have often seen monitor cables with 1 of the pins slightly bent and then as soon as it is attached to the video port of the card, bend completely down. I don't know the specific pin-outs on monitors, but if one of them is damaged, it could be causing your problem. The inital green of the display would be the auto-sense feature detecting the presence of the monitor cable and then realizing that the specific pin is not present and go to standby.

If that isn't it, I'd guess I'm stumped. No other suggestions without physically seeing the problem first hand. Let us know....

you've gotten really good advice. Try it on another board and try a diff card on yours. Thats about all you can do now. Also,The fact that the video card gets hot doen't exclude it from being bad.

I'm having a similar problem...
GeForce4mx = No video signal = D.O.A.?

Here's the 4Xcard
http://www.chaintech.com.tw/eng/products/VGA/A-G445.asp

ECS K7SEM Bios Settings:
tried setting for AGP, disabling the onboard (although it is supposed to auto-detect)
tried fail safe defaults
tried optimum defaults
tried clearing CMOS
tried beforementioned procedures.
tried reseating card, it's in properly.
still no luck.

What concerns me is, ECs Manual says "4X nVidia Cards only"
That means that you must not install AGP 2x cards that use 3.3 Volt supply voltage.
AGP 4x has 1.5 Volts. Assuming is newer agp spec, meaning 1.5v (the lower signal voltage.)
So I don't even have another card available to test. All I have is a nVidia TnT Vanta LT, which is a 2X card. On A Soyo 5EHM which is agp spec1 (3.3v)

Yes I did and had it insured also. Though triska said nothing looked broke, though are they still using raidiation on packages since the Antharax attack. I had the package sealed good with electircal foil. I just don't know how one could claim it if no damage is shown? Any help would be appreciated, for I refunded his money back to him and he is shipping back the product to me.

Thanks,

Getting a refund on insured items is a real pain. Although easy to get a claim form and fill it out... it takes a very long time to get the check. My situaltion was different though ... my package was lost ... never made it to destination. I had to get a letter from the company the package was destined stating it never arrived. Then ... well ... in all .. i think it took over 6 months for a check. I think that was only after calling the postal service to get the status.

What do the LED's on the motherboard show?

Are you possibly running your AGP slot out of spec.?
Maybe your old card would take it and this one won't.
I assume you're not even getting the boot-up screen.
What if you tried a different power supply?
Maybe this one's too weak for the new card?
YMMV - just some guesses
