Do you think we will actually see a growing trend of software companies allows us guy w/ good cards to enjoy teh features now?

this can only happen if game companies develop two "versions' of the same game, one for the general public and one for specific for people (tiny fraction of total game players) with specific hardware.

If you develop a game that runs only on a geforce 4ti and geforce FX, you have cut out a huge custumer base.

I can't see game companies doing this without a huge financail incentive from video card company to keep a game exclusive.

Perhaps, but nVidia has the largest customer base by far, so I'd say it's more like when games had Glide versions for 3dfx. If you're a developer, which is more appealing to you?
A. nVidia development money up front
B. Possibility of a few more sales after release

I won't be playing if it's an Nvidia only game. Not that I dont' like Nvidia products, I just don't currently have any in my machines.

Just imagine all the people that would buy and not even know that they couldn't play the game.
