Video Capture Question

wayliff

Lifer
I bought a Hauppauge Video Capture Card WINTV-PVR-250.
I connected my Sony Camera and I have not been able to figure how to record from the camera.
It is connected via an S-video cable...I cannot see the image.

The instructions are not much better than me.

Would anybody care to explain to me how to do this?

Thank you for your help.

First... What kind of camcorder do you have? I'm just curious.

Try clicking the green Source button in WinTV2000 to select the S-video input on the card. Maybe that will work. The button is in between the channel buttons in WinTV2000.

Take a look

This should record from the S-video input just like you would record from cable TV.

Once it's recorded, I'm not sure what to do next. It came with WinTV MPEG editor and ULead DVD Movie Factory. So you should be able to edit and make DVDs.

While this might work, you might be better off getting a video editing app such as Pinnacle Studio or the new Adobe Premiere Elements. They are both under $99, and can do all sorts of video editing tricks. If you're serious about video editing, this type of program are especially made for editing.
