I am looking to pick up a video capture card, and was looking at a few. One of the cheaper ones listed at 30FPS, is that going to be really laggy??? Also, any good suggestions in the <$150 range would be appreciated.....

Not too sure one this but doesn't movies / TV only play at 25FPS or so? Guess being able to capture at 30FPS is more than enough.

Thanks
This was a USB capture, so I don't think I will go with this one, but that info is good to know while I am looking. Any other suggestions....

Broadcast NTSC video 29.97 FPS
Broadcast PAL video 25 FPS
Film 24 FPS

Here is a Link with some basics concerning video capture. That site also has capture card comparisons, but I couldn't get the page to load today. I just installed an AIW 7500 (a little under $160 shipped) and its just a great card/package that I'd recommend. I also have an AIW Radeon and a Radeon 64 VIVO SE, the AIW has the better feature set, but they are both very good capture cards, and reasonably priced, all have the Rage Theater Chip.

Look at the Hauppage cards and ATI TV wonder for addon capture cards.

Just because a card states it is capable of capturing 30 fps doesn't mean it will capture at 30 fps. The fact is, most consumer cards are software encoded, not hardware... so it depends on your computer.
