I have a Gainward/Cardexpert Powerpack !!! Geforce3, and was wondering what I need to do to get the video-in function to work. I installed the video capture drivers off the cd, and control panel says the device is working properly, but I cannot capture video. When I try to use the capture function of the bundled software (Ulead VideoStudio) it says that it can't detect a capture driver.

Does anyone know what I need to do?

I am running WindowsXP, but it did the same thing on Windows2000.
I also tried it on another video capture program and it gave a similar message.

Anandtech captured his NES game (looked like Dr. Mario) using the same card I have, does anyone know why my capture drivers are not detected?

Try installing the video capture update

I couldn't capture video until I installed this after I installed the ATI multimedia center on my system. I had installed the video capture update before I installed the multimedia center but it did not work; not until I re-installed it afterwords....

It might be a similar issue with your GF3.

Good luck....

Wow, you hit it right on the nose!...except for one thing.

I went to the directx homepage (ironicly just before i read your post) and right on the cover page it says "download the video capture update if you have a VIVO card etc etc" And based on the problems i had it sounds like its a driver (directX8.0) problem.

Buuuuut.... when I downloaded the program it wouldn't let me run it. I have WindowsXP and appearantly the update does not include WindowsXP. To be honest, i think it wouuld work on XP but because it detects an OS other than the 4 listed, it wont execute the program (just gives me a message saying I dont have Win98,NT,2000, or ME)

Thanks for the idea though, cuz it woulda worked if I had a different OS.
You think they will make an XP version?
