It's time to digitize my VHS library, looking through the reviews on different capture devices there is not one I've seen that has overwhelmingly good reviews, they're all spotty at best. It seems they work with one particular mobo or chipset but not with another.
I'm looking for something that will let me digitize commercial VHS cassettes, I like the USB versions better than the PCI or PCI-E simply because it's one less thing that has to plug into the BACK of the computer. Linux support would be a minor plus, but not a deal breaker. I need something that works under windows and won't be a nightmare to configure.
Quality wise, I don't expect to acheive anything better than the VHS source but I wouldn't want to degrade the quality too much.
Thanks in advance.
