Video Capture Cards Opinions

Let's here some opinions on some video capture cards...I'm particulary interested in those that handle video/audio sync in hardware, that is, once that do not require a loopback to the audio card...

how much do you want to spend? if there isnt a ceiling on your budget i would go with aq video toaster 3 www.newtek.com right now you can pick one up with the best editing software in the world a full version of aura and ligthwave for $2495

well....since I'm no pro, and I only want one to tinker around with it, i'd say no more than 300.00USD.

Worthless trivia: did you know that Dana Carvey's brother worked on the original Video Toaster (for the Commodore Amiga)? I don't know if he's still on the development team or not.

In any event, you should be able to get a nice card for $300. Have you checked sites like www.dvdrhelp.com for recommendations?

I'm in the market for a video capture card too. Been looking at: Canopus ADVC-100. From what I heard and read, it looks good.
