Video Capture card

Just a simple question, i play Halo 2 alot, and sometimes there are games i went to record, but due to having no capture card (and the fact i use my computer monitor to play, so i cant record it on the tv while i play) i was thinking of just getting a good, cheap cpature card.

Anyone have any reccomendations (i want to keep it under $80 if possible, but there is a little leway)?

also, how many Gigs does 10 minutes, or so, of gameplay footage take up??

thanks

Deja vu.

In MPEG2 format, you'd probably get about 2hr/4.5GB, so 10 minutes would be 300-400MB. That's at pretty high quality...an SVCD is a lower bitrate and 45-60 minutes fits on a CD, and the quality is not bad at all.

I wonder what would happen if you used Windows Media Encoder 9 to do full-screen capture while playing. WME9 download if anyone feels like giving it a whirl.

i use a tv tuner and windvd creator to capture and burn to dvd's. the image is high quality!! my tuner is a cheap one, well assuming your pc will only be capturing and that you are capturing from a console then it can be done.
