I'd recommend sony as being a good name for video equpiment. Are you wanting like vhs camcorder, hi8 tapes, or like digital video stuff? My personal choice now would be a digital video camera to hook up to a firewire card if you've got a decently fast pc. Edit it on your pc, make cd's of the video and mail 'em to relatives who couldnt come, etc.
