In Japan, there was a military and political leadership that the message was targeted to. The attitude of the Japanese people was such that only the demonstration of a superior weapon that they had no way of defeating would cause them to realize the hopelessness of the situation. They were also able to realize the effect that it would have on the population.
With respect to Iraw, there is no military/political leadership that we have as direct opponents.
You apparently do not realize the effects of a nuke.
The situation in Iraq is like within the ghetto of large cities. Most people respect the system, but you have gangs that manipulate the system and create terror/problems for the population and government.
The troublemakers have to be removed; scorched earth is not the answer.
The military has to stop fighting with feather pillows and utilize the
full might of our
convential technologys. The insurgents can nibble our will to death unless we make the effort to eliminate them and all that encourage them. Ala Israel & Hamas. Notice how Arafat is cowering in fear currently and has previously begged for the world powers to step it to save his skin.
Terrorism can be defeated with force. Results will then provide political and public support.
Passions You need to think before you post. Grand ideas will not solve all the problem, logic needs to be applied to look at
all known aspects of the picture. This usually comes from experience and the ability to listen to ones elders. They have been through this situation before.
