vid card questions

I've been wondering which graphics card to put into my new computer. I ask that you rank the following in order of performance, and if you can please try to rank in terms of value also. If you think all three of these cards suck, feel free to "write in" a card that you think is of better performance/value. I myself have been considering the Sapphire Radeon 9800 SE since it is only $145.

- ATI Radeon 9800 SE 128MB (Sapphire)
- ATI Radeon 9700 Pro 128MB
- nVidia GeForce FX 5900 128MB (Leadtek)

I would stray away from the ATI SE series as they are castrated versions of their cards. My best bet right now would be the 9700 Pro then the 5900 NU. I'm not exactly sure which one is better, I read some stuff about the 9700Pro being better in one of these threads though I believe the Pro cost more so 5900NU would be a good choice if your not willing to spend as much.

The 9800se is crap. If you only want to spend $145 get a 9600 pro instead. The 9700 pro and fx5900 are both good values if you get them for about $200 or less. If you get a leadtek fx5900, don't get the lx model. You might consider an xfx fx5900 over the leadtek--they come with fast 2.2ns ram and can be found for about $190.

the 9800 np that was $200 w/ free HL2 was prolly the best buy today

its close between the 9700 pro and the 5900 because the former will be faster in DX 9 but the latter would be faster in dx 8
