Vid card problems and other weird issues.

Well I got up this morning and went as usual to turn on my monitor. Turned on but was on power save etc... I moved my mouse to get back to my system, nothing. I was like whoa. So I rebooted my system. Instead of a small independant beep I heard one elongated beep and my monitor didn't turn on. I was like uh oh. After some general troubleshooting and puting my old Gforce 3 in, we determined that my card is blown. It's not even 2 monthes old yet. Another issues I have is that my new 200 gig HD went out on me about a week ago. I dont know whats going on, we suspect it might be my power supply becuase when ever I turn on my computer, it shows health of my system. mother board temp cpu temp voltage regulation etc.. One particular thing is in the red. some weird Vbat thing fluxuates alot. it's either lower or higher than the norma.. My powersupply is Turbolink 420 watt that came with my case like 2 years ago. Perhaps that could be causing the issues.

Well let's see.. first a new HD goes out, then a brand new card goes out. Maybe the power supply is the culprit. Especially if the "Vbat" voltage is shown in red at bootup... that certainly can't be a good sign.

Anyone else have any ideas?? Is 420W enough for 4 hard drives, a CD-RW and DVD-ROM, and a GeForce 6800GT?

A rock solid 420w should work with all that. A two year old less than average ps could be risky and cause significant hardware problems such as ruining hard drives and video cards. Could be the power supply. Let us know how it goes.

Yeah.. trash that piece o' crap power supply. Get an Antec 450W. I wouldn't get anything more than 450W... you're just wasting money, and it's too much power for what you've got in your system.

Yeah, turbolinks are not exactly quality power supplies, and a power supply issues could cause the problems with the video card, and the hard drive. As for the Vbat, that could be refering to the voltage for your CMOS battery maybe?
