No Lifer
It was a Sound Blaster Audigy Platinum complete with breakout box and remote
0 bids, bidding opened at $25 and it ended in two hours. So, I pretty much assumed someone was planning on sniping.
I used eBay the way you're supposed to, and bid the most I was willing to pay right then. 5 bids came in the last minute. I can almost picture the panic the last guy went through, as he made bid after bid, desperately trying to only beat me by the smallest amount possible.
In the end, the victor was I, and I still got it for less than my max.

Sorry to be the baloon popper, but most auction sniping is done automatically through free online services. He was probably at a bar having a good ol' time while you sat at your computer feeling superior. 😛

Silence, peasant. The victor is still I, and not he. So *pbbthhpppttt* 🙂

I do my own sniping, not a program, and take advantage of ebay's bid-for-you. I put in as much as I am willing to pay, within the last ~30 seconds, depending on how good my connection is that day. You still get it for the lowest you can, above the other guy's max.

If you had done the exact same thing, but instead of bidding with 2 hrs to go you waited until there was about 15 seconds left, you'd have saved some money.
Sniping rules.

I snipe. Win some, lose some. Oh well. I just place the bids and forget about them, if I win, yay.
