You expect honesty from the guy who broke his dad's windshield because he thought he didn't get enough hugs as a kid or something? No, PAB doesn't talk things out honestly, he throws temper tantrums. Now State Farm is holding a nice shiny lollipop, so he'll scream "MINE!" and grab at it like the greedy 2-year-old he is.

28,000 v $100k

I dont think 28 is a lollipop. Its a tootsie roll on a string dangling in front of me.

Today, State Farm called.

The "too long didnt read" version is that I have had a dispute with them since September of 04 regarding the matter of over $100k. Hurricane took roof off house and we've been screaming bloody murder they cut a check for contents, which was way under 100k.

In other words: They owe me big money for a covered loss. They havent paid it since 2004. I have been *raises fingers* THIS CLOSE from standing outside my agents office weildling a bullhorn and a sandwich board with the words STATE FARM = BAD FAITH.

Today, a claims adjuster called and said his manager called his manager who called his manager, and they have never done this before and are paying anything I throw at them withinn 40 days. In other words.....

I have 40 days to spend $100,000.

Conditions: I have to have a reciept. Otherwise SF will NOT pay the claim.

Items I can buy: ANYTHING damaged during hurricane that was thrown away and documented.

Examples:

72" BBQ Grill
25 cubic ft smoker
Furniture for a 3BR 2BA house, sofas, loveseats, lawn jockeys, crap like that
Digital Cameras
Computar machines (Network Server, Linux box, print server, laptops, LCD monitor's, whatever)
PDA's
Soda Machine x 2
About 9 freezers or refrigerators
Beds
Clothes - suits, fitted dress shirts, shoes, belts
Lighting, lamps, desks, cd's
software licenses, windows advanced server 2000
Audiophile crap - audio recivers, new speakers, cd players,
AMMO! LOTS AND LOTS OF AMMO!

The problem:

Heres how State Farm works.

You have a computer. You say it costs you $2000. State Farm says it cost you $1000.

Then, State Farm says it's depreciated. By 80%. You get a check for $200.

Go buy a new computer for $2000, and SF gives you $1600.

Imagine this, except replace computer with "HOUSE" and add zeroes accordingly.

I can spend money that I don't have for useless crap that I don't want, or I can pocket the cash. What would you do?
To be honest, I don't want to read through 2 pages of posts, so I just read your original post. Blow 100grand on booze and skanky ho's.

These PAB threads really spark the creativeness of web forum flaming. Kudus, and kudos to BD2003 for that very long (but oh so appropriate) flame.

Wait, he's not that evil? I dunno... I haven't read his other threads but he seems pretty evil. It seems to me, he's like 2 hobbits have to travel to a giant volcano and throw in a ring to destroy him, evil.

Who's going to be my hero and google stalk PAB, find out his contact info, and then turn all of the info (including this thread)over to State Farm since he's clearly suggesting insurance fraud?

They invested it all in tech stocks. Lot of good that did me.

at least they tried. You're the type of person that makes people lose faith in the world. Give the money away.

1st Replace that windshield of your Dad's that you smashed.

Now is $100,000 the cap that they will pay? If so then you need to buy $125,000 worth of stuff to take full advantage.

Buy returnable or exchangeable stuff. A big, big TV then take it back in 30 days and trade it for a smaller one "wouldn't fit in your entertainment center". Get a lot of stuff at COSCO.

I'd say price matches, but there is usually only a two week window for those. Find a contractor that will give you a 20% CASH discount. Get new windows, flooring, remodel the kitchen and bath, etc. Will they take a bid for home repairs since the work will take longer than 40 days?

Edit: I should invoice you for appraisal consulting ;)

All we need now is a ambulance chaser, and we can have a complete trifecta of filth.

Wow, crapping on the OP and anyone trying to help him. From what I have read about PABs parents, I imagine them to be like Peg and Al Bundy. So give little Bud a break. If he finally got STATE (we never pay) FARM to cave then woot for him.

I missed the part in the OP about contents only, but as I understand it you are saying they will give you a check for up to $20,000 for the depreciated value of your home contents without receipts, or pay 80% of what it cost you to replace them with receipts. If your insurance was for the "replacement" of a damaged home and contents, why are they depreciating anything?

If your house was destroyed would they expect you to pay 20% of the cost to rebuild it?

You were fine until this part:

Believe me, if you had read any of his other threads, you'd know he's a worthless POS, and his parents haven't done nearly enough to deserve the treatment he gives them. He will go to extreme lengths to justify his own actions in his mind, and no matter how much he gets flamed, time and time again, he will come back for more.

He is such an attention whore, that he has gone to extreme lengths to prove he's a douchebag. There have been times that even I have given him the benefit of the doubt, thinking to myself, "There is NO WAY he can be that much of a douche".

And in return for that shred of faith, he goes out of his way to prove that he is indeed a douche, and finds the pride of having indeed proved us wrong, that he is a douche, to far outweigh the shame of actually being one.

And that my friends, is where I draw the line between a well meaning, but ignorant buffoon, and a LOSER with a capital L.

Hey PAB, I call shens that you're actually going to take that 9mm of yours, load a round, put it to your temple, and blow your own brains out. I don't believe youre actually that stupid. Can you arrange to have someone post a pic of your death certificate so we know that you were indeed a douche until the very end?

Spend the 30k on your own guerilla so it can anally fist you. To save money, you can stuff a guerilla in heat in your anus, go to the zoo, pull down your pants, and bend over in front of the alpha male guerilla.

See Ya!

Thank you for an acutally useful contribution.

The deal is that they will pay UP TO $100,000 - if I can provide documentation supporting I spent $100,000 to replace items.

My take - is that it's retarded.

Why do you buy insurance? You buy insurance to give you money when stupid stuff like this happens so you can get a check and get on with your life.

What has happened here is that stupid stuff has happened. Except instead of my insurance company giving me money, they're telling me to spend the money I don't have.

Why don't I have this money? I don't know. I thought that's what I bought insurance for.

AFTER I spend the money that I don't have, my insurance company gives me the money they're supposed to give me.

DOES THAT MAKE SENSE TO ANYONE?

it makes sense to me that your parents had insurance, and not you...

So as I understand it State Farm will give PABs family a lowball cash offer for the items that they insured or will pay 80% of the cost new for said items if a receipt is given.

Sounds like PABs dad tried to save a few bucks a month on the insurance premium, but screwed up and got a "Market Value" policy instead of a full replacement one.

I don't see why PAB just couldn't take of list of items with local store prices down to the adjuster, and then get a check for 80% of the total amount as they agreed. Oh, wait, I know why, because STATE FARM SUCKS, that's why. What other insurance company would make you pay $20,000 out of pocket before getting the $80,000 that you are covered for?

Sorry I haven't read many of PABs threads, "Joined: 12/04/2002 Posts: 691" doesn't seem like nefing or attention whoreing to me, but bringing your feces throwing, guerilla fisting and go shoot yourself insults in to this thread is uncalled for.

How does exchanging a big tv for a smaller one at COSTCO hurt anyone? They are still getting paid, PAB gets a tv and State Farm pays what they said they would.

I don't expect BD2003 to listen to reason since he seems too filled with hate, or perhaps it's jealousy over PABs Dell Deal.

Anyway, good luck PAB, sorry you have to take care of your families finances and put up with the sh!t flying around here.

How many freezers and refrigerators does your parent's have?

How much ammo do you need?

Shakes head...
