WTF are they feeding em in France? However, IMO 7-foot-4 is really the upper limit for an NBA player to be skilled. Wemby is already a unicorn's unicorn and defies classification, but the super-tall guys (7-foot-3 or more) have always been clumsy as fuck.

As long as Wemby stays healthy, he's apparently a virtual lock for DPOY:
Wemby -200
JJJ +700
Craymond Green +1000

Thought this was pretty cool: last night a kid at the Spurs-Nets game had a sign requesting a jersey swap with Wemby so he did it.

Spurs shut down Wemby for the season, which gifts DPOY to JJJ or Evan Mobley.
DPOY would make JJJ eligible for the "supermax," or it would upgrade Mobley's contract automatically to $269M over 5 years (from $225M).

Meanwhile, Joel Embiid's knee said "Nah, we're done for the year."

Wemby with hands down the greatest game of his career to open the season. That was Anthony Davis he was bullying, a first ballot Hall of Famer who is stronger than an ox and one of the greatest defensive players the league has ever seen. And he just took the ball from the three point line, bulled Davis down into the low block, and raised up to drop that hook that Davis had no chance of getting to. Then the 7'3" guy he dad blocked is Derrick Lively, one of the top defensive bigs in the league, and Wemby flushed all over him too. When I saw Victor drop that tomahawk jam on Cooper Flagg and Lively all I could think is that's the greatest dunk of his career and then 15 minutes later he had a way better one with the up and under after blowing by PJ Washington (another very high end defender with quick feet).

Loved seeing the reaction of the Inside the NBA crew after the game

As a life-long Spurs fan, that game brought me to tears. We were obviously spoiled from 1999-2014, but I am SO psyched that we seem to be coming out of a lull.

Hey you spurs fans.
Did you watch both games against the warriors?

Man, two good games and tonight's was a barn burner. Steph has still got it at 37 y.o. 95 points in two games. Wemby is going to be a defensive force for years. Saw Jimmy Butler get blocked twice on two successive plays.

Here's the last 4:37

Yikes, Wemby is still easing his way back in but the Spurs already look like a contender in a stacked Western conference.

This is easily my favorite Spurs team to watch since that legendary 2014 team. Figured Castle would level up big from playing with CP3 just like SGA did and now Steph is looking a lot like SGA. And then Dylan Harper is probably going to become even better. Meanwhile De'Aaron Fox is having a career year too. Knew this team with three monster point guards was going to be a really tough matchup for OKC since they can't do their usual move of sicking Dort on the other team's point guard to shut down its offense but don't think I would have ever expected them to take OKC down 3x in a row. Still blows me away ten days or so ago OKC had the best start in league history at 24-1 and the Spurs beat them 3x in that span.

Not really about Wemby but there was a guy on the NBA Reddit who was complaining because he paid a bunch of money to go to the Lakers-Spurs game last night.

Most of the Lakers starters didn't play so it was basically the Spurs versus the Lakers G League team. Went about as well as you would expect.

Wemby had 40 points and basically didn't play the second half.

25 points in the first quarter alone. Unreal.
