I've been using the unofficial stock 2.2 release for the past couple of days and it's probably the best stock rom I've used yet. I'm getting terrific battery life and no noticeable battery drain. 8am to midnight with my normal use and I still have around 40% or more battery. Flash works very well and my wife is able to watch her Korean TV shows without any problem or slowdown. Awesome. Mobile AP still works great as Wifi Hotspot. Wifi Calling is my favorite new feature. I get extremely poor cell signal down in my basement. Now I can just turn on Wifi Calling and get full signal for calling and receiving. So no more battery drain due to weak signal and I don't have to put my phone on Airplane mode down in the basement.

I thought the first flash to Froyo would wipe all the data on my phone so I backed up everything. But after Odin Froyo install, I still had all my data, pictures, music, etc. Same on my wife's phone. Weird.

Roms don't generally delete the internal sd card. They only wipe /system, /data and /cache. Anything on the internal or external SD cards will remain.
