Anyone know if the P4X400 chipset can/will support hyperthreading? I have a VPSD mobo and I'm really diggin this chipset, it's quick and flawless for me, which is strange considering how much flak VIA takes from its AMD users. While I look forward to VIA's upcoming P4 products, I'd like to be able to run upcoming HT-enabled processors on my current board. Thanks.

I read a review the other day that one company i think they started with an "S" (soyo or soltek) leaked a bios that allows hyperthreading on the P4X400 chipsets. They didn't go into detail about the performance. It was just the fact that the bios was leaked and unofficial for final production. So there is support for HT in the VIA chipsets. I agree with you that the P4X's are damn fine chipsets. I wish the nay sayers would just give up already.

I also saw something at the www.theinquirer.net that said someone was able to get the P4X400 to do HT. But as of right now no board supports it nativaly. So best thing to do is E-Mail the board maker, as from what I have read it seems the chipset MAYBE able to do HT with just a simple Bios update. But also depends on how the chip was used on the board.

But I agreee, the P4X400 has gotton a bad rap. I think most dog it as it does not have a Pci/Agp lock. But the price is rigth and it seems to be very stable.

Also if you have not already, get the NEW 4in1's. Supposed to help the P4X400 and KT400 chipset out a good deal.
