I've tried for over a month now to diagnose and fix my new system consisting of a Gainward GeForce 3, 2 Maxtor 40GB 7200 RPM Drives, 3 sticks of PC2100 Crucial DDR and the Soyo Dragon KT266 board with a 1.4 Ghz Athlon. After a month of just trying to get the damned Raid Drives to function (but that's another story) I've finally gotten Windows XP up and running only to find it absolutely unusably unstable. Especially in 3d applications but not limited to 3d. I've tried Fresh reformatting, installed Via 4-1 4.32 AND the new 4.33 I've tried virtually all Bios settings, but I'm open to suggestions. System either just crashes the offending program or completely blue screen of death's with an "infinite loop" error caused by NV4 (I'm assuming this the good ol fashion Detonator driver going haywire). What's strange is the system is rock solid with a GeForce 2 GTS with the same settings. GeForce3 causes serious errors. Wierder than most, games not only visually corrupt, but game data seems to be leaking. For example, a problem I can regularly find is in a game requiring very little 3d acceleration such as Arcanum, the character stats shift values. So something larger than visual corruption is going on here. ANOTHER wierd issue that's beginning to make me want to snap this damn VIA board in two and wait for the Nforce is that on a few occasions when the 3d application crashes (leaving XP running the USB ports will turn OFF!!! I'll loose mouse support and will have to restart. So what can I do?? I'm lost.
