<< Problem with Fury190 posting utter BS in forums. - Bug with VIA chipset.

LoL yah, here's a linky that confirms what he should do: Fury190 posting fix/advice

Btw, Maniac, nice recap 😀 Reminds me of my dog chasing his own tail because its too dumb to know any better.

Wilfredo,ST4RCUTTER ,& FiveDoubleO

Thankyou finally for some information 🙂,we have something 'real' to look at now!

Fury190
I see you have finally posted alink of your own ,had you done that to begin with then maybe people would of taken you more seriously

darth maul
If you also read back through the thread you will see that Fury190 consistently refused to give any real info or links ,so how on earth do expect anyone to take him seriously!😛
And I have nothing to apologise to him for ,I never at any point said the problem did not exist ,I did say though that he made it appear it was down to just him because of how little info he was giving

I always see threads about how this is the best place on the net to post about info, and receive info about puters
That's point ,he wasn't posting any real information ,it was only when Wilfredo,ST4RCUTTER ,& FiveDoubleO stepped in that we had anything to go by.

[update]
Just read one of the sites & it seems Intel chipsets can suffer too! (re latest nvidia drivers with Win XP)

There's a whole heap of argy-bargy over at the Via Arena forum. Other forums appear to bear out Via's view, with Intel mobo customers also experiencing problems with the latest drivers.

I am sorry you guys think calling a person a name is justified by the fact of one post causing you stress. If you didn't believe it, or couldn't understand it, say your peace in a constructive way and WALK away. I would hope no one buys or returns something cause of one post. Hay maybe I am just to mellow over the whole thing.

But, I am suprised no one is adult enough to say sorry for the flames...wait its the net, never mind.

Tim

lol, i didnt even flame him, im not the type to do such a thing anyway. however, maybe if you step back and look at the big picture you will see that many people are the type to flame and sometimes people deserve what they get.

I suggest anyone interested in an intelligent disscusion on this issue, move on over to the forums at viaarena.com.

Great exchange of ideas going on over there. And the two via teams in tawain, and the one in austrailia working on this issue, are giving great updates.

If you've posted there, I'll have to pass 😛

I asked him 4 times for real info on the subject before calling him any name ,I would hardly say calling him an idiot is a big deal ,especially under these circumstances😛..............and yes you are too mellow 😉

And I would apologise to him if he apolgised to us for leading us on a wild goose chase (to start with) ,he hasn't so I won't ! ,fair enough😛

well why didn't you say that in the first place? that's what got you in all this heat, a NON-intelligent discussion.
Exactly!

Anyway ,this is getting way OT.......

Chizow
I don't know that my word carries much wieght 😉 ,but I had a quick read around the VIA forum & there is some interesting & useful info to be had there ,it seems some of the VIA staff themselves post there , I would also recommend having a scout around
(woah! I stood up for fury190 this time, wth?😉)

some hardware combined with other hardware, combined with an operating system with diverse personal settings with some additional software installed sometimes causes problems -- CONFIRMED

Hehe no assimilator, you and every1 else who posted other than the thread starter don't spread FUD like its their job and always have something insightful to share (except when flaming 😉 ) I did take the time to read some of the posts from the non-idiots, and I'm pretty up-to-date on the issue. Its a very specific problem, and since I don't use XP (I like to give new proggies some time for you Beta testers to work out 😉 ), I haven't taken much interest in the issue. I only get annoyed with incompetent users that spread BS all over these boards because thats how rumors start. Not that I should care that much personally, but new ATers are impressionable. Just one inexperienced user with problems (that are almost always solvable/user-error) making blanket statements about certain products can cause a ripple effect of misperceptions that need to be cleared up for months. Thats all. Kinda a rant. Oh well.

You may be having problems with your rig. You may very well have a defective GF3 or mobo.

But...

You can not unilaterally confirm that there is a bug in the Via chipset based on your one experience. There are thhousands of these configurations out there.

In short, there are many who have not had problems, and you are in the conspicuous minority.
Change the title of your thread and ask for help... you will get farther that way in solving your problem.
