I'm wondering if anybody knows whether I need to install the VIA 4-in-1 driver set over my XP install. Can anybody help me? I'd just try it, but I don't want to hose-up my install. . .

The only reason I'm asking is that Half-Life:BlueShift is behaving oddly(escapes to a black screen out of the game, need to use TaskManager to quit the game), and I want to play;)! I've got the Detonator11.01 driver set for my GF3 installed BTW.

Any help would be greatly appreciated:).

I installed the 4.31 over the XP install. After that i realized that XP had driver's already had the 4 in 1 driver's installed. Now each time i reboot it want's me to tell it where the IDE busmaster driver's are. I cannot seem to fix it. With that been said, I have Xp on dual boot at home. The c partition i have not messed with anything. The D partition is where i do the tweaking. I have trouble with video in both setup's. The trouble is just in games. So this has nothing to do with the busmaster.

At last, a reply:D!

Sorry to hear about your troubles, Bojax, and that's the very reason I'm afraid of simply running the driver install over XP:confused:. BTW, which XP build are you running?

2485. i am going to format the c drive and go back to W2K. But i will keep XP on the D drive. I think it is an aewsome OS in many way's. Other than the few problem's i've had. I also couldn't network my other pc that is running WIN 98. I made a floppy disk, prompted by the setup wizard but when i went to load it into 98 it gave an error. Something about not recognizing. I can't remember, i just wrote it off as a bug.
