VIA 4 in 1 and Win2k, what are the issues?

Are there known problems with 4.28s and Win2k? I waitin on a AV7133 and I'm thinkin about makin the jump to win2k.

Is there anything I should know? Appreciate any info.

Use the new 4.29s that came out. It fixes a problem with the IDE driver in the 4.28s. Other than that, I don't think there are any other issues, but I could be wrong.

The 4.28's are working great for me. I'm not touching the 4.29's until they're full ver.s: I know lots of folks run them fine, but you'd hate to be one of the poor b**tards crying that they've had to reinstall in this forum.

But even with those VIA driver updates, I don't think you will have true ATA100 support until SP2 is released by MS!

I just installed this POS and it trashed my Win2K setup.

I asked for help on this topic but couldn't find anything I could use to salvage Win2k.

I don't know if my problem is a commmon one but I have seen in other threads similar problems.

If it is not 100% necessary for you to install this thing, I would be careful.

VIA has updated it site to reflect the 4.28's here. I would use the 4.28's IMO. Worked great for me, unlike the 4.29's.

cbuchach i read an article stating they were expecting win2k service pack 2 to be out by april to may. no real official time yet.
