I have only ever used the Via AGP and IRQ routing miniport driver on an Asus p3v4x (Apollo Pro 133a), based on information from the the Chipset FAQ on Via's site.
So I've used the Microsoft IDE bus master drivers (DMA checked in Device Manager) since last June and I've never had a problem. HD Tach gave me scores representative for the HDD in the system (Maxtor 6800 Plus) with a 56-57 MB/s burst rate, which implies that UDMA 66 is functional. I can't compare scores with the Via IDE drivers, but they've always seemed fine to me in opening applications or copying large files or directories..BTW, does anyone know what the 'Inf' portion of the Via 4in1 does, I've never used it, and I don't see how it could really do anything beneficial?
