I've got a SOYO SY-6VCA. I may have something not set right in my BIOS "Power Management Setup".

Here's my problem...
My system's "screen saver" is set to turn the monitor off after 5 minutes of idle time. After 5 minutes the monitor shuts off, but won't come back on. When I go into the display properties to change the settings, the whole system (not the cursor), locks up hard. Ctrl+Alt+Delete won't do anything. I have to "Reset" to get the system to boot up again. Is there a way around the right click "display properties" adjustment. It does the same thing if I try to adjust them through the "Control Panel".

Any help is greatly appreciated :)

Try installing latest monitor drivers as well for your monitor.

I used to have that problem with my G400Max. I just reinstall VIA 4in1 driver, USB filter driver, and my video card driver. Hope that helps.

Thanks all!
I went into...
Start > Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Information > Hardware Resources > Conflicts/Sharing.
I found numerous conflicts.
I went to...
Start > Settings > Control Panel > System > Device Manager.
And either disabled problem conponents or removed them. After restarting Windows 98 proceeded to install drivers for "new" hardware.

I still have a problem with screen savers (I like to see the time in 3D Text). But I have been able to adjust, so that my monitor shuts off after 5 minutes. I think it's getting about time for a fresh format and reinstall.
Thanks again everyone. :)
