What year is this? 2003? Oh...... I could swear it in 1990!

Why do people STILL sell VHS only videos?

There is an awesome documentary called The Journey of Man on PBS. I wanted to buy it because it is really good info about the origin of man. Problem is..... they only have it in VHS?!?!

WTF........come on people!

I would gladly pay like $50+ for that DVD. Yeah, I could get the VHS, dig my VCR outta the attic, then rip it, then burn it to DVD..... but the quality loss from the initial VHS would be horrendous.

SELL DVDS PEOPLE!

its probably the ease factor, and low budget factor. they dont' just make copies of the program that you like, almost every program can be purchased. do you know the time involved in burning THAT many DVDS? they probably also have older copying equipment that is vhs format.

the VHS will be released on Feb. 4th. As for the DVD, copies through 'PBS Home Video' WIll release DVD versions at 29.99. They may have a boxed set to. There is not specific date for the DVD release.

A friend of mine works at WLVT which is the Local PBS for the Lehigh Valley (Allentown, Bethlehem, Easton) are of Pennsylvania. He does not know the DVD date though, but If I or He finds out, we'll let you know.
