VGA Silencer Rev 3

Ok any body has used this VGA Silencer Rev 3 for ATI 9800 PRO, and how much can you get out from your card 420/740 will be possible.

I`ve heard the ATI Silencer 1 might be better... the heatsink on that is made of copper and has a smoother base.

Havent seen any reviews of it, so I dont know for sure. If anyone here has tried one of those, please speak up.

But generally speaking, the VGA Silencer Rev.3 should be a safe buy - many 9800 PRO owners have been recommending it for quite some time.

I can definately recommend it!

It's damn cheap and produces less noise than stock coolers, even at max speed. I'm max at 440/760 by the way with my Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB.

I love mine, too. Case temps. dropped by 3C after installing it on my 9800Pro. All other equipment/settings identical.

I haven't even tried to push my card since I installed it. I get good enough performance at 400/720.

Ok are you guys serious, yeah it is really cheap $11, i am going to order it right now. Looks like it is a best air cooler available.

I achieved this speed by open up one side of my PC, and put a small room fan towards my video card.

I think so, the Zalman heatpipe thingy is too expensive and seems really hard to install properly. Oh, and my case temp dropped about 5C after installation!!!

Ah, still too pricey for what doesn't seem to be very much gain. I've learned not to be the guinea pig when it comes to new cooling devices.

Ok i did unlock my 4 piplines and made my 9800 SE to 9800 PRO but how can you flash it to XT, like blacktankofhopelessness did.

i really don't care about the o/c (that much) . .. . i am running a 9800Pro 256/256 flashed into a 9800XT . . . the Silencer Rev 3 drops my GPU temps at least 10 C . . .. but - best-of-all - my CASE is COOLer since the GPU's hot air is exhausted out of the case.
