Well since the card just came out a few days ago the aftermarket hasnt released anything yet. The stock cooler is pretty nice and quiet as is, i dont know how much you can improve upon it.

Why would you want to use a cooler other than the stock one? It's considerably better than either the zalman or the silencer. The zalman would probably not be a good choice either because it doesn't cool the memory very well and it might overheat at 1700 mhz. As of now, there isn't really any air cooling that beats the stock one.

I don't think the Zalman or the Silencer are better than the cooling on the 512MB GTX. The 512MB GTX has the same cooler as the Quadro version, which includes heatpipes to go along with the large heatsink fins...

Any other card (7800GT or 7800GTX, for example), and a Silencer or Zalman 700 would be better.

Yup, the aritc-cooling would be your best bet, the only thing you wouldn't need to install would be the memory plate/heatsink on the back since all the RAM is on the front of the card for better cooling.

It's possible that the AC5 rev. 3 won't work with the 512MB GTX.
The 512MB GTX has a new PCB and different memory chips locations.

You dont need a new HSF for the 512GTX. The quadro cooler is quiet, 4 heat pipes, copper base, it cools EVERYTHING on your card including the transistors..

agreed. the fan is bigger than the nv silencer and probably quieter. arctic cooling has been having reliability issues lately, the fan on my silencer failed in 3 weeks.
